Ahmed Ndaula has been designing websites since the early 02′s. He was first introduced into web design during his first year at college and immediately took to it. Ahmed continued to pursue his passion for web design in college by learning the different scripting languages. In addition Ahmed began to focus more on the complete lifecycle of web development from server setup to website deployment. In his last year of college Ahmed started working with SchoolNet Uganda as a student intern, where he learnt many things in the IT arena. He was instrumental in technical issues, working closely with the Executive Director, ICT Specialist and Small business consultatnt and IT Director at the organisation in implementing the Worldbank and WorldLinks telecenter projects.

Ahmed Graduated from Aptech Worldwide, New Jersey, Uganda chapter with a Higher Diploma in Software Engineering, Diploma in hardware maintenance and Networking and a Certificate in Hardware maintenance. Immediately after graduating, Ahmed continued to work at SchoolNet uganda, as a Technical Assistant, where he gained a lot of experience in the IT arena working closely with schools. It was through his involvement with schools, that he thought, after attending the first Africa Source Workshop in Namibia, that the THINCLIENT would be a solution to Ugandan computer labs where alot of computers were put to waste due to problems that could be solved using the technology of the thinclient. He became an Open Source fun from there and he’s involved in WebServer setups, development of softwares, proxy, ftp serveretc.

After working for a couple of years with Schoolnet, he joined World Education Corps as a volunteer in New york, United States, with International Education and Resource Network (iEARN ) for a year long program. Some of his tasks, are to maintain and develop websites, solving day-to-day technical issues and articulating the value of iEARN in the USA communities.

In his first project at iEARN, Ahmed developed a website for the PEARL World Youth News and the Learning platform which is a news/journalism project for young students, sponsored by Daniel Pearl.
